Capturing Memories: The Benefits of Printed Photos from Your Photographer

You took the time to coordinate outfits, gather your busy family, and have professional family photos taken. Now what? One of the biggest recommendations to my clients’ after their photo shoot is to make the investment of ordering their prints through me. One of my frequently asked questions is, “But why can’t I just print them at the local drug store?” Let me explain…

Quality of Prints

The labs most photographers work with are highly skilled and have printers calibrated to reproduce your photos exactly as they were taken. This means the color stays true and the picture is crystal clear, as it was intended to be. Leaving the printing to me ensures you’re leaving with the highest resolution photos possible.

Access to Professional Labs Not Available to Consumers

Piggybacking on the quality of the prints, the labs used in local stores often use standard ink jet printers that don’t have the ability to print high quality images. You will often see that local labs print images where the tint and saturation is very off, resulting in dark and potentially blurry images.

Color Accuracy

Your photographer likely uses a high quality printing lab that specializes day in and day out on printing images for professionals. This includes their color matching abilities and high paper quality, both of which result in keeping the integrity of your images intact. Afterall, your photos are art. Make sure that art renders perfectly, not only on your digital album but also in a print.

Archival Quality

Cutting corners today will almost always have some sort of repercussion down the road. While you may save a little bit of money printing your images at a local shop, years down the road you will see the photos you had printed start to deteriorate. It goes without saying that higher quality ink and paper are far more likely to stand the test of time.

Access to Unique Products Not Available to Consumers

The print shop your photographer uses will have an endless amount of options when it comes to sizing and the type of photograph you want. Unfortunately, local print shops typically only have a handful of sizes available. They are also not familiar with the importance of crop ratios and how they can affect your prints. I will communicate that with you and always recommend the best sizing options for your photographs.

Your Photographer Can Do The Work for You

It’s no secret creating photo books and albums can take some time. If you’re looking to have a photo book printed but don’t know where to start, allow me to take that task off your plate. This is a standard practice for most professional photographers! I absolutely love taking my clients’ favorite images and putting them into a high quality album that allows them to reminisce on for years to come.

You’ve already made the investment to hire a photographer and have them beautifully edit your photos, why take a short cut at the last step in the process? I spend a lot of time on the edits for my clients, you spend a lot of time and investment preparing and participating in your photo session…so don’t let an unqualified printer deliver sub par products to you. You deserve the best! Contact me if you’re interested in having your photos from your session printed.
