What are modern school portraits?
What are modern school portraits with Hunnicutt Photography?
Not your average school photo!
I believe that the essence of a personality is rarely captured in a “cheese” smile. With a fun and relaxed approach to portraits, I am able to capture more natural expressions and true emotions of your child. They will be photographed on a classic grey background, allowing their personalities to shine.
These photos sessions are quick, lasting just a few minutes and are low stress for your child. I chat with them, telling jokes, and acting silly to help their personality and natural smile to shine. That being said, if you have a serious and contemplative child, I’ll photograph them in their natural state as well.
What to wear?
Suggested not to wear: logos, large graphics, or text
Stay away from grey colored clothing as it will blend into the backdrop.
Steer clear of solid fluorescent colored shirts as they will create strange color casts on skin.
Online Proofing Gallery
My aim is to showcase a variety of images of your child, displaying different facets of their personality. Since you know them best, you can choose your favorite pose(s) from a secure online gallery of modern fully edited images available to purchase as prints and/or digital downloads.
Can’t decide? The entire digital gallery is offered for purchase with every image included in both color and black and white. À la carte items including metal prints, canvases, and professional retouching are available to purchase for an additional fee.
At Local Schools
Modern School Portraits with Hunnicutt Photography occur annually at select preschool and elementary schools. If you are interested in having Hunnicutt Photography at your school, let your administration know and send me an email.
Pop-Up Events
I also host a select number of pop-up modern school portrait events each fall and spring that are separate from any one school. If you’re interested in notification of my next portrait event, please email me.
I know that the 2020-2021 school year has been unusual with many students in the Portland Metro area unable to attend school and working hard from home online with their parents and teachers. If your students have not had a school photo this year, please reach out so that we can capture their annual photo to keep the school photo tradition going strong.
