I’m worried my kids won’t cooperate for our family photo session!
I often have been asked if I can handle my client’s shy, rambunctious, moody, or special needs children.
And, as a parent myself, I can totally identify with the fear of the unknown around how your children will behave when meeting a new person and being photographed.
But guess what, kids will be kids!
And I LOVE kids and babies
Plus, prior to starting Hunnicutt Photography I worked as a pediatric nurse and nurse practitioner. So my JOB was taking care of children from birth through age 21 during some of their hardest and most challenging times of their life! So I know kids, how to interact with them, and what to do to encourage a fun chill photo session!
I also never force kids to “smile” or “say cheese”
I’ll take serious portraits, smiley portraits, laughing portraits…whatever captures the true personality of you and your children.
Instead I’ll act ridiculous, tell silly jokes, and dance around to garner natural smiles and belly laughs.
“I worry my child will make silly faces”
It’s completely expected and natural for your kids who make silly faces to make silly faces during their photo session. I capture enough images that I’m sure to have some great silly captures along with their natural true smile. So you can rest assured that with all of those camera clicks I’ll create photos you will love.
Don’t Stress
I know it can be hard but please don’t stress about your child’s behavior during the photo shoot. It is my job to direct them and work on getting them to interact with my camera and all of you for the best photos possible. If you are stressed this will show up in your photos, so please just remember to have fun and roll with the punches. Family photo sessions are often children lead, and I love that.
