How to Choose Shoes for Your Photo Session
Do you stress about what shoes to choose for your kids (and yourself) for your photos?
Really, the only shoes I would shy away from are big bright white sneakers, as this can pull the attention away from you and your family during the photos.
Shoe choice depends somewhat on season…
In the spring, fall, and winter be sure to wear weather appropriate footwear.
Don’t be afraid to wear fun bright rain boots, and to coordinate jackets and accessories with them! The pop of color and fun from rain boots is great!
Look at the shoes prior to be sure there’s nothing overly distracting about them, and that you’ll feel happy to see them in photos.
Going Barefoot Is An Option
In the summer we can go barefoot at many outdoor locations, like beaches, and river fronts. If you wear sandals, be sure that your toes are looking great as well…consider a fun shade of nail polish for Mom and her kids.
Another great shoe option that adds a classic clean neutral look to your outfits includes converse sneakers, which come in black and also a variety of colors and finishes.
Converse can also add some great personality / color to images.
Be comfortable and able to move
The top priority, to me, regarding shoe choice is footwear that you are comfortable wearing and can move in. During sessions with me you and your family will run, jump, dance, and have a blast. So be sure to choose shoes where this movement can be done safely.
