Newborn - In Home Photos on A Stormy Day

Many clients read and hear that newborn photos should be taken within the first 5-14 days of life... and this is true for posed sleeping newborn photos. But the images below are proof that you can have a family newborn photo session after the new arrival is a bit older. This photo session was delayed a bit due to baby acne (no one wants photos of their newborn then, and I'm totally open to working around that phase if needed) and then the older brother was sick so we were delayed again. Then, the rainy season was upon us in Taiwan and the weather outside turned really stormy leading to a few challenges during this photo session. The good news though is that we had a super happy two year old, who loves cars (and is quite knowledgable about them I must add), and with that we worked the session around what he wanted to do while still capturing the new bonds forming within this family of four. We chased the light through their apartment as the lightning started to strike outside, but I absolutely love the black and white family images created due to the low light from the stormy weather.

Even though this was technically a newborn photography session, it's super important to me to get meaningful images of the older sibling alone, as well as with each parent...which truly makes this a family photo session with a newborn for extra cuteness!!

Make sure you read to the end to get a really good look at this new bundle of joy!!
