Family of Five, Taichung Confucius Temple Session
I was thrilled when this return client contacted me about booking another session for her family in Taichung, Taiwan... you see, this is a family divided by an ocean for the majority of the year, and last year when all of her sons were available for photos, her husband was not... so we shot a 'mother sons' lifestyle session, which was great (she even made a phone case from some of the images!!), but of course they wanted to do a shoot with Dad when they visited Taichung this summer.
We chose to hold their session at a cultural location, the Taichung Confucius Temple, to include the rich colors and architecture that are common in Asia. I love how the colors and lines worked together to highlight this family. There was a total downpour in the morning before their session, and I was terribly worried that we would get rained out...and we were even prepared to shoot with umbrellas if needed since this family is not always together - but luckily the weather held after a short shower right at the start time of their session, and we spent an hour together laughing and talking.
Seriously, an hour of laughing as this family is SO fun. And check out the couples images of Mom and Dad below! The love that these parents have for each other just oozes from these images, and I was so honored to be able to capture this for them.
I am no longer living in Taiwan, but am available to book travel sessions, or to photograph families where I’m currently living in Portland, Oregon. Contact me today if you’d like details about travel sessions to wherever you are in the world, or if you are right here in my Pacific Northwest back yard.
