Don’t Love Your Child’s Annual School Photos? I have a solution!
I’m a mom too…and I know what goes into their annual school photo.
Picture Day Prep
Before picture day, we discuss and select their outfit ahead of time, we spend extra time on their hair that morning, ensure they have earrings they love on, and are showered and clean, and without any eye goobers ;).
Picture Day Is Fun
Photo day is always a fun day at school, and one kids generally look forward to. Then, when I receive the proof from the big box photo company, I’m usually a little bit disappointed. We invested time in their preparation for picture day, only to have the photos taken at the end of the day. So, their curled hair was straight. They had spilled lunch on their shirt, and to top it off they look super stiff and uncomfortable in the one pose we received.
Modern School Portrait Pop-Up Sessions
Don’t get me wrong, this photo serves a purpose for the school, and their internal systems, but it is one that I never plan to hang on the wall in my home.
During Covid-19 I started offering modern school portraits as a pop-up event separate from my preschool sessions which are held at multiple local preschools, and I call these modern school portrait pop-up sessions.
They are perfect for my prior preschool clients who have moved on from their preschool and still want to have the modern school portraits they have grown to love, who want modern school sibling portraits, and for families who want annual photos of their child that show their true personality to treasure and display each year.
It’s ok that they get a photo at school, but it’s definitely worth the time to have modern school portraits taken. And, it doesn’t take very long. Each session is only a few minutes, the students have fun, and you get photos to love and be proud of.
